RESEARCH
Lectures and object-based research lie at the core of the Pavilion’s work, shaping the understanding, attribution, and preservation of each object. Each work is approached through sustained study, forming the basis for its interpretation and conservation.
The Pavilion develops research focused on decorative and applied arts and the culture of collecting. Many objects, often rooted in everyday life rather than ceremonial or courtly contexts, are considered not only as elements of display, but as primary sources carrying traces of lived experience, memory, and cultural continuity. Through them, historical, artistic, and cultural contexts are examined.
Exhibitions are accompanied by lectures grounded in this research. They are also developed independently as part of the Pavilion’s intellectual programme, extending beyond individual exhibitions and addressing broader questions related to collecting, attribution, and cultural memory.
These programmes situate objects within their historical and cultural context, examining the conditions of their creation, use, and significance. Curatorial texts and lectures developed in relation to the Pavilion’s collection and exhibition programme are presented in this section.
The Pavilion’s work engages not only with the study of the past, but with the preservation of cultural memory for future generations.
Research publications will be introduced in due course.
